Full Control: Custom Shortcuts
App Manager > Shortcuts: Customize keyboard shortcuts across set.a.light 3D to match your personal workflow and speed up repetitive tasks.
- All Areas Covered: The new Shortcuts tab in settings organizes keybindings by section: Global, Studio, Camera Preview, Set List, Timeline, Library, Animation Editor, and more.
- Quick Reassignment: Click any existing shortcut, press your preferred key or combination, and you're set.
- Clear Indicators & Reset: Modified shortcuts are instantly highlighted. You can revert any keybinding back to default with a single click.
Faster Workflow: Context Menus
New context menus put essential actions right where your cursor is, cutting out unnecessary trips to the top menu bar so you stay focused on designing.
- Instant Custom Asset Editing: Right-click custom lights or modifiers directly in your setup to modify them on the fly. No need to navigate through Asset Manager > Light.
- Timeline Shortcuts: Right-click timeline assets, snapshots, or set folders to create snapshots, export selected shots, or manage set folders instantly.
- Uninterrupted Flow: Common operations across the lower panels are now available in place, reducing menu hunting and keeping you in your creative rhythm.
Animation Path: Copying & Plan Visibility
Two key enhancements make working with camera animations faster and much clearer for pre-production:
- Copy/Paste Camera Paths: When you copy and paste a camera, its attached animation path is now copied along with it. This lets you reuse identical camera moves across completely different sets or snapshots in seconds; ideal for consistent social media content or recurring camera moves.
- Visible Paths in Set Plans: Animation paths are now fully displayed directly on exported set plans. Crew members, directors, and clients can clearly visualize camera motion trajectories right on the top-down floor plan during planning, pitch decks, or set builds.
Expanded LEE Filters Library
We added 15 essential LEE lighting filters to cover specific technical corrections and theatrical styling, and we reorganized the filter panel logically.
- Logical Panel Sorting: We structured the filter library strictly by application: Color Temperature correction, Neutral Density, Diffusion, and vibrant Effect Colors.
- Technical Correction & Diffusion: Soften highlights with White Diffusion options, warm daylight sources with C.T. Straw or 1/4 CTO (206), balance spikes with Plus/Minus Green, and cut exposure with 0.9 ND.
- Creative & Atmospheric Tints: Add rich dramatic accents using Congo Blue, Follies Pink, and Industry/Urban Sodium for stage, concert, or architectural lighting setups.
Under the Hood: Raytracing for All Quality Levels
We enabled ray tracing across all quality levels in set.a.light 3D, Low, Medium, and High, standardizing the render engine for a more predictable and streamlined workflow.
- Significant Speed Boost: Moving to full ray-traced rendering makes your final exports typically 2–3× faster (hardware-dependent), dramatically reducing wait times for high-resolution images and animation sequences.
- Unmatched Consistency: Your viewport previews will now perfectly mirror the lighting, shadows, and reflections of your final render, regardless of which quality setting you choose. No more guesswork about how different settings might change the final look.
